Mingle is now available on Nex Playground with Play Pass! This classic hidden object game transports you to a black-and-white world full of 400+ cute characters across 25 interesting maps.
From the creators of Aeon Guard (a Playground fan-favorite), Mingle brings simple match and merge gameplay to Nex. If you’re looking for an active alternative to your or your kids’ favorite mobile games, Mingle is ready to play.
Getting started with Mingle is easy: just choose your map, then find your twin. Each time you merge, a new character is created. Match and merge again, continuing until there’s only one character left.
There’s a tutorial included in the game (which you can choose to replay from the settings at any time). But if you have questions, here are some quick tips and tricks to get you mingling.
At the start of each game session, you’ll be asked to select your “aiming hand”. We recommend choosing your dominant hand, as small, subtle movements are key to controlling your character.
How do you even know who you’re controlling?
Look for a P1 (or P2 in co-op) above your character’s head. Once you’ve identified your cute creature, use your hand to move the circle (or diamond for P2) in the direction you wish to take your character, and they’ll follow.
Did you find your twin? Great! Now it’s time to chase them down and merge.
When you're close to your twin, there are 2 ways you can make them merge: squat or wave. Each squat movement (down or up) attempts a merge. If you’re waving, you’ll need to use your non-aiming hand (making big, elaborate movements) to complete the merge.
Sometimes, characters move pretty fast, so you’ll need to follow suit. Quickly squat or frantically wave as you chase after them. It’s highly likely you’ll look ridiculous, but at least you’ll get in a good workout. 😜
After every successful merge, you become a new character. Find their twin, merge, and repeat until there’s only one black & white cutie left.
Congrats... you completed the level and met an adorable new friend.
Head back to the level selection screen to see which characters you’ve met in each level. Want to meet them all? Each time you replay a level, you’ll end with a new character. Keep mingling to meet the entire crew.
If you’re trying to unlock that elusive 3rd star, try playing with a friend. Stars are unlocked based on how quickly you complete each level. Adding an extra person can help you clear the map more quickly, giving you both the boost you need to max out your star count.
The best part—while working together to match and merge, you can still compete over who makes the most matches. It’s a collaborative co-op with a competitive twist.
While Mingle’s gameplay is simple, mastering the levels is more difficult. Many levels include extra challenges you must conquer before making a match.
For example, in some levels, characters may go invisible, change shape, or get hidden by giant splatters. But that twin you’re seeking is never truly gone—get close enough and you can still merge.
Enjoy brain teasers? Jump right in and puzzle through the levels on your own. We recommend trying a few new tactics until you decipher the trickery.

Are you feeling stuck? Check out the hints below for some tips on tackling the tougher levels.
Why does everyone look the same??? In this level, every character is a ninja while moving, but then disguises as a unique object when still.
So who’s your match? Take a pause to discover your character’s object, search for your match, then track that tricky ninja down.
Don’t blink or you might miss it. Watch closely as your character comes into view, and keep an eye on the others too.
This one is a bit more like a card-matching game than previous levels. Shave time off your score if you can remember the location of each eye-catching character.
Don’t worry—you’re not all the same. Start moving to see a patterned trail behind you. Follow the trails to find your perfect match. The biggest risk here is losing yourself or your match in the chaos.
Nope, you’re not crazy—almost every character looks like you. Here’s the trick: only your real match will blink. The rest are simply a mirage.
Even with this tip, though, this is a tricky one. Keep your eyes peeled and maybe even grab a friend for some extra visual support.
You’ve made it to the final level. But don’t celebrate yet, this one is a doozy.
Chase your twin around the map and through the portals. When you enter a portal, you exit out of its match. The problem—it’s easy to lose your place, your character, and your match as you teleport across the map.
Our best advice — activate your spatial reasoning skills and stay patient. The more intentional movements you can make, the quicker you’ll clear this final challenge.
Mingle is a fun challenge for anyone looking to boost their active play. With both solo play and a 2-player co-op option, it’s a great choice for a quick family movement break. Or settle into a longer session, working up to 3 stars as you unlock loads of new characters and wallpapers.
